Joachim Loew appoint Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno for the first time into the senior squad, the Germany head coach revealed at a official press conference on Friday.

The current FIFA world champions face Ireland in Dublin on October 8 before they clash with Georgia three days later in Leipzig at the European Qualifiers.

Thus, Loew announced Germany's 23-man squad for the upcoming caps. "Our goal is to win the two games against Ireland and Georgia to qualify as the group winner for the EURO 2016 in France," Loew said.

Leverkusen's goalkeeper Bernd Leno earned his first call up into the "Nationalmannschaft" due to "consistent and good performances at Bayer Leverkusen," goalkeeping coach Andreas Koepke said.

Joachim Loew also appointed Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus, who returns after a six-month injury break to the national team.

Germany sit atop Group D with 19 points followed by Poland (17 points), Ireland (15 points), Scotland (11 points), Georgia (6 points) and Gibraltar with (0 points).

A draw against Irelands would be enough for the Germans to secure their berth for the EURO 2016 in France.
