The Zhoushan Archipelago New Area, established on July 8, 2011, is located in southeastern Zhejiang Province, eastern China. It covers 1,440 square kilometers of land area and 20,800 square kilometers of inland sea.
It is China's fourth state-level new area. It is also China’s first new area focusing on the maritime economy.
