Located on the east side of the Huangpu River, the Pudong New Area is home to the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the newly established Shanghai Free Trade Zone.
The 2010 GDP of the area was 470.75 billion yuan (US$77.51 billion), the investment on fixed assets 143.23 billion yuan (US$23.59 billion), the total volume of imports and exports US$186.56 billion, and the realized foreign direct investment US$3.86 billion.
