Lanzhou New Area, covering 821 square kilometers, is the first state-level new area in northwest China. On Aug. 20, 2012, China's State Council approved the Lanzhou New Area and its construction guidelines.
The area aims to achieve a GDP of 270 billion yuan (US$44.48 billion) by 2030.
