BNP Chief Khaleda Zia to address press conference

Xinhua, March 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Bangladesh Nationalist Party(BNP) Chief Begum Khaleda Zia would broke her silence to brief the press on Friday, her press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan announced here on Thursday.

Khan told the media that Zia, who leads a 20-party alliance would address the press at 4 pm tomorrow.

Khan said Zia would talk about the go-going political situation at her Gulshan office where she has been staying since January 3.

He said Zia, twice prime minister of the country, would also discuss the stand of the 20-party combine.

Zia will break her silence since January 6 when the combine imposed a non-stop countrywide blockade and series of work stoppage demanding a fresh election under a caretaker government. She asked for the election as she said the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was not elected by the people of the country.

Zia might have changed her mind as people hitting the city streets in large number over the past few days. The impact of the continuous work stoppage and non-stop blockade seems to have largely waned. Endi
