Drug dealer jailed for 5 years after 2 deaths reported

Xinhua, March 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

A Polish national was jailed for five years and four months in prison, for his role in supplying dangerous drugs linked to two deaths, local police said.

Adrian Lubecki, 19, was charged for his involvement in trafficking Class A controlled drugs (PMMA or Para-Methoxymethamphetamine) and also possession of Class B drugs, the Suffolk constabulary said.

He was arrested on Jan. 2 after two young men died in the eastern English city of Ipswich.

Justas Ropas, 22, died on Christmas Eve after taking one-and-a-half tablets. Lubecki admitted the tablets he supplied to Ropas contained PMMA, a strong and more dangerous active ingredient than those usually found in what are commonly referred to as ecstasy tablets.

Gediminas Kulokas, 24, died at home on New Year's Day, also from causes believed to be related to the PMMA ecstasy tablets dubbed "Superman."

"Lubecki's sentencing reflects the seriousness with which drug offenses are taken. Our message is clear: the supply of dangerous drugs will not be tolerated and every effort will be taken to bring those responsible to justice," said Jon Brighton, chief superintendent. Endit
