Ghana rise in latest FIFA rankings

Xinhua, March 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Ghana has moved one place up to rank 24th in the latest edition of the FIFA world rankings released on Thursday.

The Black Stars, silver medalists at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea, also gained 23 points to increase their points accumulation from 864 to 887.

Ghana are still third on the continental table behind champions Cote d'Ivoire, who are second, after Algeria.

World champions Germany maintain their comfortable lead over Argentina and Colombia

Seven friendlies have been played since the last edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, five of them in the North, Central America and Caribbean zone.

The majority of changes are a direct result of a devaluation of past results. Endi
