A country doctor dedicated to the fight against schistosomiasis

Chinagate.cn,July 26, 2019 Adjust font size:

Chen Fanjing has retired now, but often returns to the hospital. Schistosome has already vanished from the former "epidemic water" in his eyes outside the hospital. The Nanji Township Health Center has established a new three-in-one mechanism of medical treatment, public health care, and schistosomiasis prevention. The several decades of years have seen fruitful achievements in improving public health of the township. The infection rate of schistosomiasis patients has down from 70 percent to below 1 percent. In the past the residents’ average life expectancy in the island was under 50 years old, and now it has been raised to over 70.
