Chen Fanjing is regarded as a workaholic, however, he did enjoy his work and works at least ten hours every day. He has never spent an entire weekend or festival break with his family in his county town home. He was infected with schistosomiasis three or four times. In January 2009, he had a surgery. However, he just took a rest for three days and then returned to his work. The achievements he has made in anti-schistosomiasis undertaking were rewards for his arduous work.
