Young faces at the annual NPC session

Dong Dong, born in April 1989, is a deputy to the 12th National People's Congress (NPC). Dong, of the Hui ethnic group, won a gold medal for trampoline gymnastics in the 2012 London Olympic Games and a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. He calls for an increase in the number of physical education teachers in schools. "School physical education is the cradle of competitive sports. We can't just stress intellectual education while ignoring physical education," he said.
