Braga set to be named Fluminense coach

Xinhua, December 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Abel Braga is poised to be appointed coach of Brazilian club Fluminense for a third time, according to media reports on Wednesday.

The 64-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain defender has agreed in principle to a two-year deal with the Rio club and an official announcement is expected within days, Globo Esporte reported.

Braga, out of work since ending a spell with Al-Jazira last December, will replace Marcao, who was named Fluminense's interim coach earlier this month after the sacking of Levir Culpi.

Capped once for Brazil's national team, Braga was Fluminense's coach in 2005 and again from 2011 to 2013.

Fluminense are currently 12th in Brazil's 20-team Serie A standings with one match remaining in the season. Endit
