Ukraine's State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection announced on Wednesday that the case of bird flu had been found in the country for the first time since 2008.

The disease was detected in a private poultry farm in Novoaleksandrivka village in southern Kherson region, the agency said in a statement.
