Innovation Comes First

Zhang's speech focused on recent achievements in Chinese space development. "In mid-August this year, China blasted the world's first quantum-enabled satellite into orbit from the Gobi Desert in northwestern China. In September, the Tiangong 2 space lab rode a long March 2F launcher into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center."

As far as Zhang is concerned, recent years have been witness to many world-class achievements from China— "But it is not enough. We need to do more." China also plans on conducting special demonstrations in other deep-space projects, including an exploration of Mars. He stressed the importance of keeping innovation strong among the nation’s youth, citing his son's multicultural education.
