Pilot killed in accident in Southern Portugal

An aircraft crashed in Beja, 180km south of Portuguese capital Lisbon on Sunday, killing the pilot and injuring seven parachutist passengers on board.

They were on board a Pilatus PC6 aircraft which was carrying eight people. Two of the passengers were severely injured, according to local media.

One of these two passengers had gone missing and was found on Sunday night. He is currently being taken care by medical staff on the ground.

Around 56 people, 22 vehicles and a helicopter from the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) are involved in the relief operation. Enditem
