Xinhua, June 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Switzerland held hosts France to a goalless draw in their last Group A match on Sunday and booked a berth in the round of 16, but Romania lost to Albania to be eliminated.

France, who had already qualified with two wins, topped the group with seven points, followed by Switzerland with five points after beating Albania 1-0 and drawing with Romania 1-1.

"We had the chances and hit the bar twice. We were there to secure first place and we did it, so it is mission accomplished," France coach Didier Deschamps said.

"Now a new competition is going to start for us next Sunday. We have a long week ahead of us and that will give us time to prepare." Deschamps added.

Albania forward Sadiku, 25, scored in the 43th from Memushaj pass, which was their first goal in Euro 2016.

Albania faced an anxious wait to find out if they qualify for the last 16 as one of the best third-placers. The final round of group games will come to a close on Wednesday evening. Enditem
