Bulgaria's leading motorcycle exhibition opens in Sofia

Xinhua, March 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

Sofia MotoRing Expo, a leading motorcycle exhibition in Bulgaria, kicked off here on Friday showcasing the latest models of 18 world-renowned producers.

During the 10-day event, brands such as Peugeot, Honda, Harley Davidson, Yamaha, MV Agusta, KTM, Ducati and China's Keeway, will present more that 170 motorbikes, some of them for the first time in the Bulgarian market.

In addition, a special moto-simulator will allow visitors to test their riding skills on small, medium or large motorcycles with manual or automatic transmission.

Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Economy Lyuben Petrov said at the opening ceremony that in his country the motorcycle is not just a tool for transportation.

It is rather a hobby and pleasure, Petrov said.

He personally is a fan of these machines, and rides a 1500cc bike.

Latchezar Bouyukliiski, a representative of the association of car manufacturers and their authorized representatives for Bulgaria, said that for the first time so many motorcycle brands were gathering under one roof, creating convenience for their potential customers.

According to data from his association, some 10,000 motorcycles were sold in Bulgaria in 2014 including 2,000 new and 8,000 used, accounting for 5 percent of the total number of newly-registered vehicles. Endit
