1st LD: Casualties feared in blast in Afghan capital

Casualties were feared as an explosion rocked central Afghan capital of Kabul on Friday evening, witnesses and sources said.

"The blast occurred at around 07:45 p.m. (15:15 GMT). We still cannot provide details of causalities. There is fear of possible causalities," a security source told Xinhua.

"So far, we have no more details, but we will try to get information," he said.

Witnesses said that they heard a loud explosion at Macroryan, a locality near Kabul airport that gives home to several apartment buildings and diplomatic offices. Endit
