China will provide 10 million U.S. dollars to the United Nations World Food Program to help hungry people in Ethiopia and Somalia, the Ministry of Commerce said on Friday.

Eight million U.S. dollars worth of food will go to Ethiopia, while the rest will go to Somalia, the ministry said on its website.

The ministry is discussing details of the plan with the UN World Food Program.
