British FTSE 100 decreases 0.69 pct on Monday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday decreased by 0.69 percent, or 40.61 points, to close at 5,871.83 points.

Share price of Whitbread increased by 1.92 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips.

Sage Group, Carnival, BAE Systems and Intertek Group increased by 1.82 percent, 1.70 percent, 1.35 percent and 1.17 percent respectively.

Shire led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 8.23 percent, followed by Sports Direct International (6.99 percent), Glencore (5.23 percent), Antofagasta (2.66 percent), and BHP Billiton (2.45 percent). Endit
