Magnitude 6.9 earthquake strikes seas off S. Philippines

An earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale jolted seas off the southern Philippine province of Davao Occidental at 00:38 a.m. local time on Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

No casualties and losses have been reported so far.

The epicenter of the quake was initially determined to be 3.70 degrees north latitude and 126.90 degrees east longitude, about 249 kilometers Southeast of Sarangani, the Philippines, it said. Endit
