Spanish treasury places 4.813 bln euros on market

The Spanish treasury on Thursday placed 4.813 billion euros on market (5.440 billion U.S. dollars) registering a high demand of more than 10.7 billion euros.

A total of 1.835 billion euros worth of three-year lifespan carried an average interest rate of 0.402 percent, while a total of 1.415 billion euros worth of five-year lifespan carried an average interest rate of 1.06 percent.

The placement also included 1.562 billion euros worth of 10-year lifespan that carried an average interest rate of 2.145 percent.

So far, the Spanish treasury placed around 116 billion euros of medium and long term debt on the market, which represented 81.7 percent of the country's financial goals for the year of 141.996 billion euros. (1 euro=1.13 U.S. dollars) Endit
