LME base metals mostly lower on Thursday

The base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) were mostly lower on Thursday, with the price of cooper being boosted as a consequence of the Chile earthquake.
News of a 8.3-magnitude tremor in Chile, the world's largest copper producer, triggered the highest prices for the metal since July 22 at 5,440.50 U.S. dollars per tonne.
The outcome of the two-day U.S. Federal Open Market Committee meeting will be announced after the LME closes Thursday.
The three-month unofficial copper price was up 11.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.21 percent, to 5,399 U.S. dollars per tonne.
The three-month unofficial aluminium price was up 2.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.15 percent, to 1,627.5 U.S. dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial lead price lost 3 U.S. dollars, or 0.17 percent, to 1,717 U.S. dollars a tonne.
Meanwhile, the three-month unofficial zinc price lost 8 U.S. dollars, or 0.46 percent, to 1,738 U.S. dollars a tonne.
The three-month unofficial nickel price lost 117.5 U.S. dollars, or 1.16 percent, to 10,037.5 U.S. dollars a tonne.
The three-month unofficial tin price lost 162.5 U.S. dollars, or 1.04 percent, to 15,487.5 U.S. dollars a tonne. Endit
