GLOBSEC forum to discuss Ukraine, Islamic State issues

Xinhua, June 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

GLOBSEC international security forum will discuss the Ukraine crisis, the threat posed by Islamic State and preparations for next year's NATO summit in Warsaw, said honorary chair of the Slovak Atlantic Commission (SAC) Rastislav Kacer on Thursday.

"We're living in very difficult times. Security isn't guaranteed, and it's worse than it used to be. There are even many people who deal with security that underestimate the seriousness of this period," Kacer told a press conference.

SAC director Milan Solar is convinced that the event has been contributing to making Slovakia's voice more audible beyond its borders.

"It's not only about the fact that a great number of presidents, premiers, world politicians and foreign experts come here. What's important is that the topics that will be broached in Bratislava to a great extent set the tone and direction of global politics," said Solar.

The 2015 GLOBSEC international security forum will be held between June 19-21 in Bratislava. Endite
