Spanish treasury places 5.769 bln euros on market

The Spanish treasury on Thursday placed treasury bonds worth 5.769 billion euros (6.481 billion U.S. dollars) on the market registering a demand of 10,624 billion euros.

A total of 1.720 billion euros worth of three-year bonds carried an average interest rate of 0.490 percent, which was above the 0.246 percent of the previous issue.

A further 3.218 billion euros worth of five-year bonds fetched an average interest rate of 1.243 percent, while the remaining 831 million euros worth of 10-year bonds carried an average interest rate of 1.951 percent.

So far, the Spanish treasury has placed around 79.4 billion euros of medium and long term debt on the market, which represented 55.9 percent of the country's financial goals for the year, 141.996 billion euros. (1 euro= 1.13 U.S. dollars) Endit
