German benchmark DAX index closes flat Wednesday

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed at 12,472.80 points with a mere gain of 5.76 points or 0.05 percent.

Deutsche Bank gained the most among the blue chips, whose share went up by 2.39 percent, followed by pharmaceutical company Merck and automotive manufacturer BMW by winning 1.73 percent and 1.52 percent respectively.

BASF, E.ON and SAP were the top three losers Wednesday, whose shares lost 1.48 percent, 1.16 percent and 0.76 percent respectively.

Daimler was the most traded share with a turnover of 312.13 million euros (about 340.00 million U.S. dollars). Endit
