First Christmas Market at Bratislava Castle opened

Slovak Parliament Speaker Andrej Danko in the evening of the First Sunday of Advent opened a Christmas market at Bratislava Castle as a new feature apart from the traditional downtown market.

"Castle areas and central squares and their vicinities are vibrant in big cities. I'm happy that Bratislava Castle and its courtyards won't remain empty," stressed Danko.

"It isn't a market for the elite but for everyone," he said.

Advent at the Castle will include a "live" nativity scene, music, decorations, cultural events and traditional Slovak Christmas food and drinks like mead, mulled wine and cabbage soup. The event will run until Dec. 18. Endit
