Xinhua, October 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Iran commenced a large-scale three-day aerial drill in the central province of Isfahan on Monday, reported Press TV.

The drill purpose is showcasing the prowess of Iran's air force in protecting the country.

"The drills showcase only a fraction of the Air Force's capability in preserving and defending Iran's skies," said the drill spokesman, Brig. Gen. Massoud Rouzkhosh, as the military exercises started in the region of Anarak in Isfahan.

The drills include bombers, interceptors, reconnaissance planes, refueling and transport aircraft as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the report, the drills also employ a wide range of projectiles, including smart bombs and laser-guided missiles.

Iran holds annual drills to enhance its capabilities in defending the country in the event of any threats. Endit
