Xinhua, October 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Two explosions rocked two areas in the countryside of the capital Damascus on Monday, a well-informed source told Xinhua.

One of the explosions hit Sabura road in the countryside of Damascus, sending a huge plume of black smoke over the area, the source said, on condition of anonymity.

He added that details surrounding the blast are still forthcoming.

In the Shiite-dominated area of Sayyida Zaynab, south of Damascus, the source said the pro-government fighters have detonated a suicide car bomb before reaching its destination at one of the town's entrances.

Sayyida Zaynab has witnessed a series of deadly bombings recently, leaving tens of people killed or wounded. Endit
