Macedonia creates more than 6,000 jobs in Q2

Over 6,000 jobs were generated in Macedonia during the second quarter of 2016, the State Statistical Office of Macedonia reported Friday.

Official data showed that the job vacancy rate was 1.38 percent for this period.

The job vacancy rate was the highest in the sector of accommodation and food services, at the level of 3.66 percent, while the lowest rate was recorded in the sector of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, standing at 0.10 percent, statistical office said.

Most of vacancies rose in business entities with 10-49 employees at the rate of 1.88 percent while in terms of regions, the southeast region had the highest job vacancy rate of 2.30 percent.

The highest number of job vacancies, over 2,000, was recorded in the occupations of service and sales workers, said Macedonia's statistical office. Endit
