Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire to deepen cooperation

Ghana and Cote D'Ivoire will sign new agreements aimed at deepening cooperation between the two neighboring countries, a statement from the presidency of Ghana said here on Friday.
These agreements would be signed when Ivorian president, Alassane Ouattara pays a reciprocal visit to Ghana later this year.
Mahama who returned home late Thursday after a two-day official visit to Cote d'Ivoire said the agreements would be on "issues that should cement our friendship and cooperation in a way that reflects the opportunities and challenges of our times."
"At the end of the visit, the two countries agreed to concretise the outcome of their discussions at the upcoming 10th session of the Ghana-Côte d'Ivoire Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation," the release said.
Before leaving Abidjan, President Mahama visited the Abidjan Port and met with the Ghanaian Community.
While in Abidjan, President Mahama was decorated with Côte d'Ivoire's highest national award, the Grand Croix.
He was also given an honorary citizenship of Cote d'Ivoire and presented with a key to the Autonomous District of Abidjan. Enditem
