The following are the highlights of Zambia's major media outlets on Saturday.

-- The Zambian government has launched a 12.6 million U.S. dollars project for youth bus drivers aimed at creating over 3, 000 jobs.

Vice President Inonge Wina who launched the project said the government has already advanced 40 percent payment towards the purchase of 100 Higer buses, which will add impetus to the efforts towards optimal employment creation for the youth.

The beneficiaries of the project have been identified by the Public Private Drivers Association of Zambia which will collaborate with Higer Bus Company to create regional garages to service the vehicles. (TIMES OF ZAMBIA)

-- The Zambian government assured that the country has enough fuel stocks despite some parts of the country facing a fuel shortage.

Ministry of Energy and Water Development Permanent Secretary Emeldah Chola has since warned against disruptions in the supply of the commodity.

The country, she said, has 77.3 million liters of diesel, which is equivalent to 35 days of national consumption and 32.8 million liters of petrol, which is equivalent to 23 days of national consumption as well as 4.1 liters of kerosene equivalent to 83 days of national consumption. -- The Zambian government said it will continue to maintain cordial relations with Italy.

Deputy Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Raymond Mpundu said the government was also happy with the continued presence of Italian businesses in the country.

In remarks delivered during a reception to celebrate the Italian National Day, the official said since the establishment of bilateral relations, the two countries have cooperated in various sectors such as agriculture, local government, environment, energy, transport and the creation and development of small and medium enterprises. -- Zambian President Edgar Lungu said his administration has enough political will to resolve the challenges farmers were facing to ensure the agriculture sector becomes more productive and viable.

Lungu said when he toured stands at the ongoing 59th Copperbelt Mining, Agriculture and Commercial Show in Kitwe city in the Copperbelt Province that the agriculture sector has a lot of potential for growth and that his government was committed to deal with challenges farmers were facing.
