The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Saturday.
-- Business groups and SA's banking community have welcomed S&P Global Ratings' affirmation of SA's sovereign ratings but say there is still much to be done.
On Friday the agency kept SA's rating where it was but, with the negative outlook remaining.
In a statement a group of 90 CEOs welcomed the announcement saying the news was encouraging.(Business Day).
-- The African National Congress (ANC) in three provinces will be scrambling to fill stadiums this weekend to ensure the party conveys its local government elections message to voters.
President Jacob Zuma is expected to speak in two provinces. He will be in Gauteng on Saturday, where the province will do its best to ensure the 94 000-seater FNB stadium is filled and that there is no repeat of a 2013 booing incident there against Zuma. On Sunday, he will be in Mpumalanga and is likely to be received more warmly.(News24).
-- The ANC may have abandoned its internal probe into allegations of "state capture" by the Indian Gupta family, but the investigation by anti-crime unit, the Hawks, is ongoing.
"The investigation by the Hawks continues," said Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi on Thursday. (City Press) Endit
