2nd LD Writethru: India's GDP grows at 7.6 pct last fiscal year

India's 2015-16 fiscal GDP growth stood at 7.6 percent after the country scored a 7.9 percent growth in the last quarter of the fiscal from January to March this year, said the Finance Ministry on Tuesday.

This is higher than 7.2 percent in the previous fiscal of 2014-15.

The quarter January-March stood at 7.9 percent as against 7.3 percent in October-December,

Manufacturing growth for the fiscal year stood at 9.3 percent against 5.5 percent of the previous fiscal year. Farm sector grew 1.4 percent against minus 0.2 percent.

Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India is under pressure to lower interest rates in the upcoming policy review on June 7. Endit
