Singapore stocks close 0.3 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 8.28 points, or 0.3 percent, to close at 2,732.87.

A total of 1.01 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.1 billion Singapore dollars (802.9 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 203 to 182, while 528 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 24.91 points, or 0.9 percent, to close at 2,741.15 on Tuesday. Endit
