JSE shares slightly down on Wednesday

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange closed weaker on Wednesday, taking its cue from weak global markets.

The all share index shed 0.07 percent to 51,873.50 at the close of trading, with the Top 40 index climbing 0.02 percent.

Financial 15 shares weakened for the fourth straight session, while retailers were weaker on the day.

Amongst the top ten movers up was Mix Telematics, whose shares rose 12.03 percent to sell at R2.70 after investors exchanged 755,841 shares in 45 deals. Edging 4.76 percent to R3.30 was Pallinghurst Resources, after 79 deals traded a total of 1,473,870 shares.

Ranking in the top ten losers was Deneb Investments, whose shares lost 10.81 percent after investors bought and sold 922,363 shares in 61 deals, sending the share price down to R1.65. Endit
