Sudanese president reiterates keenness on cooperation with Saudi Arabia

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Wednesday reiterated his country's keenness on cooperation and coordination with Saudi Arabia in all fields, namely the economic domain.
Al-Bashir on Wednesday received the visiting Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi in Khartoum.
He declared Sudan's readiness to open all doors before the Saudi investments, particularly in fields of mineral resources.
"Sudan is ready to remove all barriers before the Saudi investments and provide facilities for mutual interests," Ahmed Sadiq al-Karouri, Sudan's Minister of Minerals, told reporters following the meeting.
"The two countries have agreed to revive (Atlantis 2) project with new understandings as the project is one of the main agenda of Al-Naimi's current visit to the country, particularly that the studies have proved existence of huge wealth inside the Red Sea," he noted.
Al-Naimi, for his part, said he conveyed to al-Bashir greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef.
He further said he acquainted al-Bashir with Saudi Arabia's new approach towards diversifying the Kingdom's economic base and not to relay on one resource.
Al-Naimi further reiterated his country's keenness to invest in field of minerals resources in Sudan and make use of the two countries resources through joint cooperation. Endit
