Arab-Japan economic forum kicks off in Morocco

The fourth Arab-Japan Economic Forum kicked off on Wednesday in the Moroccan city of Casablanca.

The two-day forum aims to reinforce economic cooperation between Japan and Arab countries and promote mutual investments in a wide range of sectors, including energy, trade, infrastructure, human resources development, science and technology, and environment.

Established in 2009 by the Japanese government and the Arab League, the forum will bring together government officials and business communities from Japan and Arab countries.

In addition to several panel sessions and workshops, business meetings will be held during the forum.

The volume of trade between the Arab world and Japan rose from 133.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2010 to 200 billion dollars in 2013.

Japan is the Arab world's fourth largest partner after the European Union, the United States and China. Endit
