Former Shandong official prosecuted for graft

Xinhua, April 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Local prosecutors in east China's Shandong Province have filed an indictment against Tian Zhenyu, a former official of the legislature of Dongying City in Shandong, for suspected graft.

The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) on Wednesday announced that the procuratorate of Jining City, also in Shandong, which was designated by the provincial procuratorate, had filed the case to the Jining Intermediate People's Court.

Prosecutors had informed Tian of his litigation rights during the review and prosecution stage, questioned the defendant and listened to his lawyer's opinions, said a statement from the SPP.

According to the indictment, Tian had allegedly taken advantage of his official positions to seek benefits for others and accepted bribes. Endi
