Singapore stocks close 0.19 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 5.27 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 2,808.32.

A total of 1.04 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 772.7 million Singapore dollars (572.8 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 197 to 169, while 549 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 2.34 points, or 0.08 percent, to close at 2,813.59 on Thursday. Endit
