Albanian leaders express solidarity with Belgium after Brussels attacks

Albanian leaders expressed solidarity with Belgium after Tuesday's terrorist attacks in Brussels.

"We are in complete solidarity with Belgium and all the citizens of Brussels. There is no room for terrorism in Europe. Albania is on the side of our Euro-Atlantic partners to uproot terrorist cells. The attack against Brussels is an attack against all Europe and humankind," Albanian Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta said.

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama posted a message on Facebook saying: "The bombs that cause death to the innocent in the heart of Europe will strengthen the courage of Europe to win this new fight in the name of freedom."

Albanian Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati who was on his second day of official visit to Greece said on Facebook: "Shocked by the terrorist attack at the heart of European Union... We are with Belgium and the Belgian people in these difficult moments. Albania is in solidarity with the Belgian authorities and people in dealing with the situation and in the joint fight against terrorism." Endit
