Police in Denver, Colorado, on Tuesday evacuated part of the main terminal at the Denver International Airport (DIA) to investigate into a possible security threat, DIA officials confirmed.

The DIA posted a tweet at its Twitter account around noon, saying "DPD (Denver Police Department) is evacuating a section of the main terminal on the west side between doors 600 and 610 to investigate a possible security threat." Also affected areas included doors 500 to 510 on the fifth level.

"Affected ticket counters include: American, Aero Mexico, Air Canada, Lufthansa, British Airways -- flight delays are possible," said the airport.

Details about the threat are still under investigation and people have not yet known if there is a credible threat.

Major cities in the U.S. have raised the security alert Tuesday after the terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium, left 34 people dead and hundreds more injured. Endit
