Myanmar, Czech vow to promote sectoral cooperation

Myanmar and the Czech Republic have vowed to promote cooperation in sectoral investment, an official report said Tuesday.

It was discussed when current Myanmar President U Thein Sein met with visiting Czech Republic's Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek in Nay Pyi Taw.

The investment discussed included those in energy, mining, agriculture and industrial sector related to food production.

The meeting also touched on development of tourism sector and achievement in the politics in Myanmar, the report said.

In October 2015, governments of Myanmar and the Czech Republic signed an agreement on trade and economic cooperation.

Under the agreement inked between Myanmar Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development and Czech Embassy, investment opportunity, cooperation in trade and economic link as well as that in the industry will be enhanced. Enditem
