Vietnamese Nguyen Huu Thang will sign a two-year contract to lead the national squad, the Vietnam Football Federation said.

Thang, who takes over the reigns from Japanese Toshiya Miura, will be tasked with leading Thailand to the finals of AFF Cup 2016 and helping Vietnam's U-22 team win gold at the SEA Games 2017, local media reported Tuesday.

Miura was fired by the Vietnam Football Federation in January.
