Singapore stocks close 0.64 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 16.27 points, or 0.64 percent, to close at 2,562.45.

A total of 744.6 million shares changed hands with turnover of 901.1 million Singapore dollars (630.1 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 192 to 187, while 545 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 0.57 points, or 0.02 percent, to close at 2,546.18 on Wednesday. Enditem
