1st Ld-Writethru: New vice president, vice editor-in-chief of Xinhua appointed

The State Council, China's cabinet, appointed a new vice president and vice editor-in-chief for Xinhua News Agency on Wednesday.

Liu Siyang was appointed Xinhua's vice president and Zhou Zongmin was appointed vice editor-in-chief.

The other nine senior officials being appointed included Liu Zhiqiang as vice minister of justice, Sun Ruibiao as vice director of State Administration of Taxation, Fang Jianmeng and Sun Shuxian as vice directors of State Oceanic Administration.

Meanwhile, seven officials were removed from their posts, including Zou Jiayi, assistant minister of finance, Wang Fei, vice director of State Oceanic Administration, and Zheng Zhentao, deputy head of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao. Endi
