Urgent: China, Saudi Arabia call for political settlement to Syria issue

China and Saudi Arabia expressed deep concern Tuesday over the grave situation in Syria, while renewing their calls for a political settlement to the Syria issue in a peaceful manner as soon as possible.

In a joint statement signed during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit here, the two countries also stressed that humanitarian aid and relief to the Syrian refugees should be continued, encouraging the international community to provide greater support. Endi
