British FTSE 100 increases 0.98 pct on Tuesday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday increased by 0.98 percent, or 57.41 points, to 5,929.24 points.

Share price of Tesco increased by 6.70 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips.

Shire, Berkeley Group Holdings , GKN, and J Sainsbury increased by 4.82 percent, 3.79 percent, 3.44 percent and 3.25 percent respectively.

Randgold Resources led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.75 percent, followed by Antofagasta (3.51 percent), BHP Billiton (2.86 percent), Rio Tinto (2.65 percent), Aberdeen Asset Management (2.24 percent). Endit
