Istanbul attack shows terrorist threat omnipresent: Slovenian FM

Xinhua, January 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

Slovenian Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec indicated on Tuesday that the terrorist attacks may happen at anytime and anywhere, "it will be part of everyday life if the Islamic State group remains operative."

He made this remark when responding to Tuesday's terrorist attack earlier in Istanbul at a news conference in Ljubljana, according to the Slovenian Press Agency (STA).

"In view of the events in recent months I must say the threat of terrorist attack is present throughout the world," Erjavec said.

The Foreign Ministry has advised Slovenians currently in Istanbul to avoid spots where larger groups of people gather. Erjavec said the ministry posted up-to-date information on points with security concerns.

The minister regretted the attack at a tourist area of Istanbul, which claimed the lives of at least 10 people, most of them foreigners. Enditem
