One dead, many injured in two separate car accidents in UK

Xinhua, December 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Britain woke up to see two separate car accidents on the morning of Christmas eve, which caused one death and many injuries, according to reports by the BBC.

A car has crashed into a cafe in Westerham, Kent Thursday morning. Pictures of the accident site showed that an Audi car was embedded into the front of the cafe.

A woman in her 70s was declared dead at the scene and five people, who were injured, have been taken to a local hospital, according to BBC.

A witness center has been set up by local police in Westerham High Street. BBC quoted a police officer as saying that the exact cause of the crash was still not clear, but the car driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle before it crashed through the window.

In another accident occurred in Peterborough, at least 13 people have been injured when a bus crashed into a building this morning, but no fatalities were reported, local police said.

The bus demolished the front wall and bay window of a house it crashed into, according to the BBC.

Police were still investigating the cause of the accident, but they said there were reports that the bus collided with a lorry.

Meanwhile, two men were killed when a car crashed into a wall in West Midlands shortly before midnight on Wednesday, according to the police.

Police also said they were still investigating the cause of the accident. Endit
