Belarus approves draft budget for 2016

Belarusian Parliament adopted a draft national budget for 2016, with next year's revenues expecting to reach 9.8 billion U.S. dollars, up 9.6 percent from 2015.

The budget expenditure is expected to hit 8.9 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 6.9 percent. The state budget surplus will be 900 million dollars

The growth and diversification of exports, creation of new jobs and more efficient use of state property will be the key objectives of development of Belarus in 2016.

The main sources of tax revenue will be value added tax, excise duties, tax revenues from foreign economic activities.

The budget expenditures will remain socially-oriented in 2016, with financing of education and health among the top priorities.

Inflation in Belarus in 2016 is projected at 12 percent. (1 US dollar = 18,338 Belarusian Rubles). Endit
